Here's the latest from Entergy on Instagram!

At the peak of #TSImelda yesterday, September 19, Entergy Texas had approximately 40,000 customers without power. As of 6:30 p.m., Entergy has restored power to more than half of those customers, and approximately 10,000 customers remaining without power, with 1,800 of those outages a result of additional storms today. At several of our work locations, members of our veterans employee resource group have set symbolic POW/MIA remembrance tables in honor of National POW/MIA Recognition Day. In some locations, employees have also held short ceremonies to assemble the tables and honor those who have fought for our freedoms. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ How many safety measures do you see? This is Entergy Arkansas’ Justin Bull, fourth-year apprentice, and Zach Barker, journeyman lineman, installing a switch on a circuit behind Catholic High in Little Rock this morning so they can better isolate the lines around a nearby pole they’re replacing today. The idea is to keep the number of customers who must be out while the work is happening to a minimum. So, safety? Hard hats, safety glasses, rubber gloves, rubber sleeves, fire-retardant long-sleeve shirts, fall-protection harness, water for frequent hydration, and rubber sleeves and blankets covering energized wires. All that and a whole lot of training and personal attention paid to doing the job right. #DidYouKnow September is National Preparedness Month? Remember, disasters happen. It's important to prepare now and getting your family emergency plan ready isn't complicated. #NatlPrep #BeReady #PreparedNotScared September is National Preparedness Month, and Entergy is joining @FEMA in preparing our communities. Learn more about being #stormready this month by following the #BeReady conversation.
Our teams have been taking a deep dive into our archives and have found some great gems. Pictured is Canal Street in New Orleans in 1929. At the time, the heart of downtown was served by the streetcars of New Orleans Public Service, now known as Entergy New Orleans.
Many of our customers are working families struggling to make ends meet. Some of our employees took a walk in their shoes to better understand their challenges and improve collaboration among community agencies providing critical services. A day playing the role of a poor, disabled woman took Dawn Frederick “down memory lane” to a time when living in fear of not making ends meet was her reality. It also gave her a sense of fulfillment, knowing that her work in the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury accounting department makes a difference. “Even with the small part that I play here, I feel like I’m helping contribute to bettering the lives of people who are where I was,” Frederick said. Pictured are Shelly Mayo, Calcasieu Police Juror – District 3 and Dawn Frederick, a Calcasieu Parish Police Jury accounting department employee, look through paperwork as the Community Action Poverty Simulation begins at American Job Center in Lake Charles. #LIHEAPAction #L
Last month, #HurricaneBarry moved through our service territory impacting thousands of customers. More than 4,000 workers safely assessed damages and made repairs to 426 broken poles, 170 damaged transformers, 233 broken cross arms, and 765 spans of wire. Thanks to @linemenworld for highlighting some of the work they did to restore power to more than 330,000 customers. #repost @linemenworld
